Friday’s health plans are designed with simplicity and affordability in mind for people who buy their own health insurance. Plans are limited to the bronze, silver, gold and catastrophic categories. They include benefits that customers highly value, such as $0 primary care visits, thousands of $0 preferred generic drugs, and $75 urgent care visits—all before deductible.
All Friday Health Plans’ products are compliant with the Affordable Care Act and are regulated by individual states’ divisions of insurance. Plans are offered on and off the health insurance marketplace, through licensed brokers and through the Friday Health Plans website.
Elizabeth Bierbower (Beth) is the CEO of Friday Health Plans and also the Chairperson of the organization’s board of directors. A strategic leader with more than thirty years of proven executive level experience in the health insurance industry, she has experience in all product lines including Commercial, Medicare Advantage and TRICARE. Beth possesses a deep understanding of both traditional managed care models as well as emerging models such as value-based care. She is known for her ability to identify and capitalize on emerging trends such as consumerism and digital technology and for creating strategic partnerships with companies to drive scale and growth.
Beth served as Segment President and member of Humana’s Executive Management Team. While serving in that role, Beth developed a new division within the company that created a new operating model and customer experience using leading edge technologies and practices to serve the Medicare Advantage population. Previously, Beth was President of Humana’s Group and Specialty Segment generating over $7B in revenue and covering 11 million individual, employer group, and Military health members. Under her leadership, Humana won the largest TRICARE medical contract in the history of Military medicine valued at $40B.
Previously Beth held the position of Chief Operating Officer of Humana’s Specialty Benefits division and was an Enterprise Vice President leading Humana’s Product Development and Innovation teams. She has also held leadership roles with Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield as Vice President, Healthcare Strategy and Chief Operating Officer for Coventry Health Plans in Pittsburgh, PA.
Known as a fiscally responsible leader, Beth has developed and executed profitable business growth strategies while creating administrative cost efficiencies. She has a track record of driving internal innovation through new products and services and by creating partnerships with entrepreneurial and technology companies (e.g., Oscar Health, HealthVerity) to deliver leading-edge capabilities inside complex organizations. Her energy, drive and willingness to challenge the status quo have earned her the reputation as one of the industry’s most progressive leaders.
Beth holds a Master’s degree in Public Management from Carnegie Mellon University where she graduated with highest honors. She is a published author of the books Engage! A guide to engaging your consumers in their health and Busy Bee: Queen Bee. Beth is a frequent speaker on healthcare and leadership topics and hosts a podcast called B-Time.
CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
Jennifer joined Friday Health Plans in 2015 to create an innovative and highly efficient health insurance company. With 18 years of experience in the health care industry, Jennifer is regionally recognized for developing successful clinical programs and strategies for the management of outcomes and populations. Prior to joining Friday, Jennifer led operations for a large multi-specialty/primary care practice that included over 18 specialties. A Registered Nurse with expertise in both clinical functions and operations, Jennifer received the Luminary Nightingale Award for innovation and leadership in nursing. Jennifer is Green-Belt Certified Lean Six Sigma with nursing experience in ER, ICU, and Diabetes Education. She is a graduate of Grand Canyon University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Sal founded Friday Health Plans to transform the health insurance market. With more than 30 years of experience in high growth, innovative companies, Sal brings deep experience in operational leadership, market strategy, and business development. Prior to founding Friday, Sal was CEO of HealthX, a software company which built online portals and tools for the health insurance industry. From 2004 to 2013, Sal led markets at TriZetto Corporation, the leading provider of enterprise software and services for the health insurance industry, where he became an expert at using technology to drive efficiency and automation in health insurance. Sal led a number of sales, marketing and business development functions at high growth technology firms. Sal is a graduate of Pace University where he majored in math and computer science.
