National Access Program

What is the National Access Program?

When a qualifying dependent of a Friday member lives outside of Friday Health Plans’ primary service area, the National Access Program allows them to access medical care that is paid as in-network. That means that they are still covered to see a doctor outside of the state your plan was issued in.

Pre-authorization is required for all hospital admissions, outpatient surgeries/procedures, physical therapy, MRIs, and CT scans. Additional services may require pre-authorization as outlined in member benefit materials. You can contact us for further information.

Who is Eligible for the National Access Program?

This program is available for Friday subscribers' dependents who are attending school outside the service area.

National Access Program Participants will have Two ID Cards:

When medical services are received from out-of-state providers, members must use their National Access Card and Friday Health Plans Member ID Card. The Member ID Card shows your eligibility, co-pay, and claims-paying office. Your National Access Card indicates the doctor network for the state you are living in.

How to Find A Medical Provider Covered by National Access:

Once you have enrolled in the National Access Program, you will receive details on how how to find a provider. If you have questions, you can call the Friday Health Plans Care Crew.

If you are unable to find a provider, call Zelis at (888) 621-7900 between 8:00 am to 5:00 pm MST.

Special Note: Before seeking non-emergency medical treatment, please check with Friday Health Plans and the provider’s office to confirm that they are a preferred provider in your National Access Program.
